पानीघट्ट [Pani Ghatta]

'Pani Ghatta' by Suresh Pranjali is a compelling novel that navigates the intricate love story between Junmaya, a Bahun girl raised amidst Gurung Rodhi culture and Lahure tradition, and a Gurung boy, Ranbahadur. Set in the rural Gandaki region during the 1970s and 80s, the narrative powerfully portrays the harsh realities of gender discrimination and the profound challenges faced by women within society. Through rich narrative language and evocative regional dialect, the novel utilizes the symbolic imagery of 'water' (pani) and 'mill' (ghatta) to etch a vivid picture of these experiences.
