विकेन्द्रीकरण र विकास [Bikendrikaran Ra Bikas]

"विकेन्द्रीकरण र विकास" (Decentralization and Development) is the Nepali translation of Toni Hagen's pivotal work, offering a comparative analysis of Switzerland and Nepal's development in areas like tourism, hydropower, and infrastructure. Drawing upon Hagen's unique experience as the United Nations' first geologist to extensively survey Nepal, the book provides profound insights into the country's diverse landscapes and early developmental challenges.
Swiss geologist Toni Hagen, born in 1917, embarked on an extraordinary journey in Nepal during an era when foreign travel outside Kathmandu was restricted. Appointed by the United Nations for Nepal's inaugural geological survey, Hagen spent nearly a decade exploring the country, trekking over 14,000 kilometers. His extensive travels provided him with an intimate and unparalleled perspective on Nepal, a view unseen by many before him.
