Because We Say So

Noam Chomsky's
Because We Say So
critically examines the principle of American exceptionalism and its impact on global politics, notably the assertion that US actions are inherently legitimate regardless of international law or global opinion.
Drawing on the principle articulated by Dean Acheson, Chomsky scrutinizes American foreign policy, analyzing contemporary issues from the revelations of Edward Snowden and Palestinian-Israeli relations to deeper considerations of political philosophy and the role of a commons in a democratic society. This collection directly confronts American imperialism and its justifications.
