Dr. No

Dr. No
by Percival Everett is a sly, madcap novel that dives into the quirky world of supervillains and, intriguingly, nothingness. The story revolves around Wala Kitu, a brilliant mathematics professor whose name literally means “nothing” in Tagalog and Swahili. His expertise? Nothing. This peculiar talent makes him the perfect accomplice for aspiring villain John Sill, who plans an audacious heist—not for gold, but for a shoebox containing nothing, aiming to control and weaponize it. Along with the brainy, brainwashed astrophysicist-turned-henchwoman Eigen Vector, Wala navigates a whirlwind of capers, dark humor, and unexpected revelations tied to real historical events.
