Freud and Philosophy

Originating from the prestigious Terry lectures delivered at Yale University in the autumn of 1961, this profound work offers a rigorous philosophical examination of Sigmund Freud. Rather than serving as a standard psychological textbook, the text delves into the hermeneutic dimensions of psychoanalysis, exploring how Freud's theories function as a complex system of interpretation. It provides a critical bridge between classical philosophy and the revolutionary insights of the psychoanalytic tradition, challenging readers to reconsider the nature of human consciousness and the mechanisms of meaning-making.
