This book is a collection of memoirs written by the multifaceted personality Janaklal Sharma, reflecting on over three dozen distinguished figures—

including Mahakavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Rahul Sankrityayan,

Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, Hariprasad Pradhan,

Balchandra Sharma, Yogi Naraharinath, Balkrishna Sama, and others who left a unique mark in Nepal’s literary, political, and cultural landscape.

In these memoirs, Sharma not only recalls their personal habits and characteristics—both admirable and flawed—but also presents insightful events and contextual stories that illuminate their personalities.

As you read, you uncover not just the lives of these individuals but also deeper aspects of the society they lived in.

The book also highlights historical facts, such as the claim that Nepal’s western border before the Sugauli Treaty was not Kangra, but the Ravi River—a rarely discussed but important point.

For readers interested in Nepalese history and society, this book is both useful and fascinating.
