Of Walking In Ice

In November 1974, Werner Herzog embarked on a remarkable journey from Munich to Paris, driven by the belief that his mentor, Lotte Eisner, would survive if he walked to her side. This narrative captures his experiences, emotions, and reflections during the trek, blending elements of pilgrimage, meditation, and a clash between the Romantic imagination and the modern world. Now published as a classic piece of proto-psychogeography, this edition offers a unique glimpse into Herzog’s introspective odyssey.
