Parenting Begins From a Baby’s Time in the Womb

Conceiving a child is one of life’s most profound experiences, encompassing both physical and emotional journeys. Many mothers hold dear the memories of pregnancy, childbirth, and the irreplaceable moment of cradling their newborn. But what if babies could recall their time in the womb and their own birth? This intriguing question led the author to conduct a survey in 2000 involving 79 mothers with children aged 2 to 7. The children’s responses were astonishing, revealing not just memories but also emotional connections to their prenatal experiences. One touching reply came when a mother asked her child, “Why didn’t you move much inside my tummy?” to which the child responded, “Because you said ‘It hurts.’ I stayed still because I felt sorry for you, Mommy.” —
