Reading Nepali Transition

Reading Nepali Transition (2006-2015) examines Nepal’s profound political transformation from the People’s Movement II in 2006 to the promulgation of a new constitution in 2015. It explores demands made by major social groups, the state’s responses, the work and limitations of two Constituent Assemblies, and the political negotiations that shaped the constitutional process. The book also considers transitional justice for those who disappeared during the decade-long conflict, alongside the challenges of disarming and reintegrating former Maoist combatants.
