Straw Dogs

In 'Straw Dogs: Thoughts on Humans and Other Animals,' British philosopher John Gray critically examines the humanistic belief in human exceptionalism. Gray argues that humanity is not fundamentally distinct or superior to other animals, asserting that our species' perceived uniqueness is a delusion. The book delves into topics such as human consciousness, morality, religion, and our environmental impact, while also critiquing foundational assumptions of Western philosophy like the belief in progress and humanity's capacity to create a better world.
