Sunrise on the Reaping

Sunrise on the Reaping
is the long-awaited fifth installment in Suzanne Collins’s globally acclaimed
Hunger Games
series. Set twenty-four years before the original trilogy, the novel takes readers back to the 50th Hunger Games, famously known as the Second Quarter Quell—a pivotal moment in Panem’s dark history.
This new entry reintroduces the character of Haymitch Abernathy, the only living victor from District 12 before Katniss Everdeen. The book explores Haymitch’s harrowing experience in the arena and delves deeper into his backstory, political awakening, and the early seeds of rebellion that would one day shape the world.
Through Collins's signature style of tense pacing, moral complexity, and incisive social commentary,
Sunrise on the Reaping
revisits the brutality of the Games while offering fresh perspectives on the Capitol’s power, resistance, and the psychological cost of survival.
