Terry Pratchett

Delve into the extraordinary life of Terry Pratchett, the beloved creator of the Discworld series, through this authorized biography penned by his long-time manager and friend, Rob Wilkins. This book completes the memoir Pratchett himself began but was unable to finish, offering an intimate and comprehensive look at the man behind the legendary stories, from his childhood defying expectations to his global literary success.
The narrative traces Pratchett's journey from a schoolboy dismissed as unlikely to succeed, through his early career in journalism where he first conceived novel ideas, to becoming a knight of the realm. It captures his unique spirit, exemplified by anecdotes such as smelting his own sword for his knighthood and famously swapping a prestigious literary medal for a chocolate replica. Drawing on personal insights, family accounts, and Pratchett’s own unfinished writings, Wilkins constructs a vivid portrait of a brilliant satirist, humanitarian, and unforgettable individual.
