The Burning God

The Burning God concludes R.F. Kuang's Poppy War trilogy, a dark epic fantasy series drawing inspiration from 20th-century Chinese history. This final installment follows Rin, a war orphan turned shaman, as she confronts the devastating consequences of her power and the difficult path to either peace or total destruction for the war-torn nation of Nikan.
After betrayals and a brutal civil war, Rin finds herself abandoned yet unwilling to surrender. Backed by the common people of the southern provinces who revere her, she mobilizes her Southern Army against the Dragon Republic and the colonizing Hesperians. Rin is prepared to use all means to protect the shamanic arts and their practitioners, but her growing power brings with it the Phoenix's escalating temptation to unleash ultimate destruction upon the world.
