The General of the Dead Army

Twenty years after the devastation of World War II, an Italian general is dispatched to the rugged mountains of Albania with a solemn, macabre mission: to exhume and repatriate the remains of his country's fallen soldiers. There, he encounters a German general undertaking an identical, harrowing task. As these former enemies work side-by-side, their shared experience unearths not only bones but also profound discussions on the horror and guilt of war, forcing them to confront their past and their humanity.
