The Giver of Stars

Alice Wright marries an American hoping to escape her constrained life in England, only to find small-town Kentucky equally restrictive. Seeking purpose, she joins Eleanor Roosevelt’s pioneering traveling library program, delivering books to remote communities. This journey introduces her to Margery, a self-sufficient woman, and three other remarkable individuals who become known as the Packhorse Librarians of Kentucky. Together, they brave the challenging Appalachian landscape, facing dangers and societal conventions, all while bringing literacy and hope to those who have never had access to books.
