The Koran

The Koran
(also known as
The Quran
) is the central religious text of Islam, regarded by Muslims as a revelation from God (Allah). It is widely considered to be the finest work in classical Arabic literature. The Quran is divided into 114 chapters, known as surahs, which address various aspects of theology, law, morality, and guidance for personal conduct. It covers narratives from earlier scriptures, spiritual wisdom, divine commands, and prophetic stories, offering a comprehensive religious and moral framework for Muslims.
Unlike other religious texts, the Quran is believed by Muslims to be the literal word of God as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over 23 years. Its poetic and rhythmic nature also adds to its sacred status, and it is often recited as a form of worship.

About the Author
The Quran is regarded by Muslims as the eternal and uncreated word of God, delivered to the Prophet Muhammad through the angel Jibreel (Gabriel). The Prophet Muhammad, born in Mecca around 570 CE, is considered the final prophet in a long line of messengers that includes figures like Moses, Jesus, and Abraham. Over his lifetime, Muhammad received divine revelations that would later be compiled into the Quran. The text has been preserved and recited in its original Arabic form, though it has been translated into numerous languages to reach a global audience.
