The Kula Rituals

In this profound exploration of Abhinavagupta’s encyclopaedic work, the Tantraloka, the author examines the complex landscape of tantric rituals. The text focuses on the Kula ritual, which Abhinavagupta places at the apex of his system, famously incorporating elements such as wine, meat, and ritual intercourse. This book provides the first English translation of this significant chapter, alongside the first-ever translation of Jayaratha’s essential commentary.
