The Mind of Adi Shankaracharya

This monograph addresses the widespread misunderstanding of Shankara, one of India's foremost philosophers, by providing a lucid presentation of his life and works in a comprehensive and readable form. Written for readers with no previous acquaintance with philosophy, it tackles the challenge that much of the confusion surrounding Shankara's position stems from the absence of accessible introductory material. The book presents the reasoning of one of India's most subtle philosophers, demonstrating that while intellectual dexterity was not an end in itself for Shankara, his philosophical arguments remain intellectually rigorous and challenging.
