The Shadow Girls

In Henning Mankell's "The Shadow Girls," acclaimed poet Jesper Humlin, adrift in a creative crisis, seeks fresh inspiration. His path crosses with Tea-Bag, a young refugee from Africa, and other immigrant women like Tania, a survivor of human trafficking, and Leyla from Iran. As Jesper initially views their diverse experiences in Sweden as mere material for his next work, he is gradually drawn into the complex and challenging realities of their new lives, forcing him to confront his own perspectives.
