हृदय [Hridaya]

“Hridaya” is the memoir of Dr. Bhagawan Koirala, a renowned cardiac surgeon and dedicated social worker. This book delves into his journey, revealing the challenges and triumphs within Nepal's healthcare sector while chronicling his ambitious mission to establish a specialized children's hospital for all.
Dr. Koirala, celebrated for performing over 12,000 heart surgeries, shares his experiences not just as a clinician but also as a successful administrator and visionary. The narrative explores how a committed individual navigates the complexities of Nepal's political and systemic landscape to achieve significant social impact. It offers an intimate look at the obstacles, temptations, and sheer dedication required to bring large-scale medical projects to fruition, particularly the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health. This initiative aims to ensure no child in Nepal dies due to lack of access to specialized treatment, irrespective of their financial background. A significant portion (50%) of the book's royalties will directly support the construction of this pioneering children's hospital.
