In Custody

A Hindi lecturer in small-town Mirpore, Deven, finds his monotonous life disrupted by a unique opportunity: to interview Nur, India's greatest living Urdu poet. However, the celebrated poet he encounters is a shadow of his former self, embroiled in domestic strife and surrounded by sycophants. Deven's decision to become the custodian of Nur's poetic legacy forges an unexpected bond between them. This novel is a poignant exploration of identity, purpose, and the challenges of preserving cultural heritage in a rapidly modernizing world.
