See Now Then

See Now Then
is a beautifully wrought new novel about marriage and family from the acclaimed author of
Mr. Potter
. In her first novel in ten years, Jamaica Kincaid offers a brilliant and evocative examination of a marriage, revealing both its joys and agonies. Set in a small village in New England, the story unfolds gracefully as it explores the complex dynamics between a mother, father, and their two children. Kincaid masterfully navigates the human consciousness, portraying how the passage of time shifts perceptions as characters move fluidly between the present, past, and future. As she writes, "the present will be a now then and the past is now then and the future will be a now then."
