The Illuminated

Anindita Ghose's debut novel, 'The Illuminated,' delves into the interwoven lives of Shashi and her fiercely independent daughter, Tara, against the backdrop of modern India. After the sudden death of her celebrated husband, Shashi finds her world adrift. Meanwhile, Tara, a Sanskrit scholar, navigates a passionate and consuming relationship with an older man.
