She is soon drawn into their vibrant supernatural society, navigating glittering ballrooms and secret gatherings where various magical beings mingle.
However, their world is shattered by a series of unprecedented demon attacks plaguing London. These new, daylight-walking demons are resistant to traditional Shadowhunter methods and spread an incurable poison, forcing the city into quarantine. Trapped, Cordelia and her friends uncover a connection to a dark legacy that bestows incredible powers, compelling them to make a brutal choice that reveals the true cost of heroism, all while Cordelia harbors a secret love for the engaged James.
